A Very Good Day

It is 7:31 am…

It is still very early in the day and I have made a decision to have a great day. I honestly believe that many things in life are like that…meaning that you just have to decide what something is going to be and make it happen. I have to decide I am going to lose weight and make it happen. I have to decide to become more organized and make it happen. I have to decide to spend more time with my little munchkins and make it happen. I have to decide to grow my company and then make it happen.

It’s funny to think about how much control we have over our life and yet we don’t use the power of that control to build the life we want. I use the term funny but it’s really not funny it’s actually sad that we do not take control of our lives and just go make it happen. People say that it’s not that simple but in many situations it really is that simple. For example I have been doing really well on my dietary choices however yesterday I chose to eat dairy and I chose to eat bread and because I of that choice I woke up this morning feeling puffy and less clear thus I am choosing to do better today. I am choosing to only put things in my body that are good for me and also make me feel good long term. It is always a choice.

I am also choosing to start and finish that online course I bought. I am choosing to clean off my desk, clean my car and do my follow up calls. These things are all choices and they are choices that help me have a very good day.

Now is the best time to do it! Sometimes we assume that we can’t pursue our dreams if we don’t have all our ducks in a row. I would like to submit to you that we will achieve our dreams and goals sooner if we start right where we are. What was that look like? Example: If my dream is to buy an apartment complex and yet I do not have the resources (money or credit) to buy one then I can at least start looking at apartment complexes. I sign up for commercial newsletters for companies that sell apartment complexes. I can reach out to property management companies to find get information on managing properties. I can look at the resources and figure out how to position myself to buy one. I can put plans on paper in order to visualize what my goals are. I can audit my talents, skills and abilities to figure out what I can do to make more money. I can run the numbers to create a budget for buying an apartment complex. I can read real estate books, go to auctions and join organizations that are helpful to property owners. The idea is to start moving towards your dreams and goals regardless of where you are right now.Read and consume content that will encourage you to be productive. Start today. Sit down and write out what you want your life to look like. Make you the priority in your life. I have found that it is much easier to achieve my goals when I take care of myself. I am a better business woman, wife and mother when I take take care of myself and focus on my goals. What does focusing on my goals in real life looks like? I now walk 30 minutes a days even if it is at some weird hour of the day. I come home and make phone calls to my clients. I tell my kids “mommy needs 20 minutes of uninterrupted time” and they will (generally) respect that request:). I go to sleep listening to The Science of Getting Rich. I write out my goals every morning and every night. The world needs you. If you have a goal or dream and you achieve it that inspires other people to pursue their goals and dreams. It is becoming increasingly easier to plan out our lives in such a way that we can achieve our hearts desires because there are so many great tools and information out there. But those tools and information don’t mean anything if we don’t use it.My prayer is that you will read this short post in stock right now to start working on your dreams and goals.

It time to stop….only for a little while

My daughter holding a snake. I took time off to go on a school trip with her:)

I know stopping right now may not seem like a good idea, but believe me it will be worth it.  I am not talking about quitting.  I am talking about taking a minute to breath and breath deeply.  I mean taking a weekend to spend time with friends and family when everything in you keeps saying….”go, go, go and keep going.”

This weekend I took time to hang out with friends and family and I am glad I did.  For a few minutes I felt guilty because I have so much to do, but in reality I did not have a lot to do physically.  I have a lot to do mentally.  I have problems to solve, deadlines to meet, bills to pay and projects to start.  The problem I was having is that I have so much to do and I was feeling really overwhelmed.

The weekend is almost over and I still have to do everything I mentioned however the anxiety is gone and I feel like my brain is rested. Lol.  WE HAVE TO STOP!  Stop to think,  pray, meditate or just breath.  Sometimes I just need to acknowledge that the problems are there and I just don’t have the answers yet.  It is ok to not have the answers.   I can not tell you how many times in the past that I did not have the answers but then something will happen or an idea will just pop into my head.  This usually happens after I stop trying so hard.  But it is a funny dance that I have with the universe.  It seems that I have to give it my all at first and then get frustrated at not getting all the results I wanted and then I mentally and emotionally surrender and “voilĂ ” the answer or solution shows up.  I have an idea…why don’t I just give it my all and the skip over being frustrated and be patient and wait for the answer or solution.  You know what….I think I will do that right now:) Have a rocking week!

It’s Not That Deep!

I have been married to an amazing man for 11 years and a good friend of mine has been married to an amazing man for 18 years and another friend of mine has been married to an amazing man for 13 years and my brother, who is also an amazing man, has been married for almost 20 years.

I read all these blogs and Facebook posts about men, women,  relationships and spirituality…all I can say is ugh! The key to a happy marriage is to just be happily married knowing that there will be some ups and downs but in the end it comes down to love and respect.

The ways to NOT have a happy marriage:

Get with someone elses man/woman and expect it to work out (you are not Brad and Angelina and who knows what really happens at home).

Ignore that feeling in your gut when something just doesn’t seem right while you are dating.

Thinking that you will find the perfect person. You will find the perfect person for you but not a perfect person.

Marry a gay person and you are straight (if you are both bisexual that may be a different story that probably work out well). Sex is sex and people like what they like and if you don’t like it then you might be barking up the wrong tree.

Date someone with bad character traits and think it will change when you get married.  Marriage magnifies!

Get with someone because he/she is rich…hint…most of the people that become wealthy are smart in some, way shape or form and when they wake up and realize you married him/her for stuff they will start to treat you like “stuff.”

Try to love someone into loving themselves.

Thinking that if you get pregnant he will marry you…whole other subject….

There are many more but I thought I might mention these because I am so over single people thinking that a good marriage is some fantasy unobtainable thing or married people with these so called “marriage ministries” that dupe single people into forking over hard earned money to learn “the secrets” to a good marriage.

Here is the real secret….wait for it…love and respect each other and work through your issues and make divorce a non option. …i.e. if you are dealing with some one with mental issues (meaning they will kill you…then you should pack up and leave now..with or without money…leave!)

Marriage is amazing!  Rock On:)
